Happy House (brotherly love) - Fifth painting - Oil on Canvas - 60cm x 90cm
close up - Because black is so bold, lines have to be painted very sharp otherwise the smallest mistake can be spotted.
Originally considered a blue violet for design but settled on black.
Finished background - much more yellow now (picture is crap). Design drawn on and ready to paint.
Working on Background - Too green for me.
The Conversationalists - Fourth Painting - Oil on Canvas - 60cm x 90cm
Finished.
Painting progress nearly finished.
Painting progress, nearly finished. Once again I decided to choose a matching colour for the design. It turned out a bit pink for me but it still sort of works.
Carport Fix - Third Painting - Oil on Canvas - 90cm x 120cm
Finally decided on a matching colour rather than a contrasting one.
Originally going to paint design in orange.

Specialisation: Painting

As an Art Student whose interests mostly lie in Painting and Drawing, my path to becoming a qualified Artist is an experience of self discovery with which I use the method of storytelling through my paintings. Studying art has introduced me to a strange new world of different experiences and people that I’ve come into contact with along the way. It’s the stories drawn from these experiences that influence my subject matter.

Specialization: Ceramics

My works are about identity and relationships with people and the environment around me - the layers of connections which develop. Inspiration comes from outings with my son. I often capture interesting and quirky images with my camera which I use as references to help produce work. Most of my works are quite small in scale and contain a lot of repetition and detail. I work with clay, paint and mixed media.

Specialisation: Sculpture, Painting and Printing

‘Blokism’ - My work explores aspects of manhood. Not being afraid to express ideas that are emotive and serious, I reflect upon my experience as a young male of growing up alone.

Through media such as ceramic sculpture, print making and painting, I explore imagery showing view points on women, work and psychology.

Specialization: Printmaking

The natural world is the prime inspiration for my art work.

The color, form and texture of the rainforest is especially appealing and the dense lush growth, vibrant colours and a noisy but tranquil atmosphere is expressed. Printmaking, my chosen media is an effective vehicle to express my creativity and feelings toward this distinct landscape.

Specialization: Acrylic, Collage

My series is based on people of various ethnicity's and cultures. Each portrait is an honest portrayal, exposing each characters disposition. Despite the direct, intrusive composition of this series, the characters eyes engage the bystander, providing insight and a window into the soul.

While each portrait is characteristically different in appearance, the collage format of this series draws similarities between the characters. The fact of the matter is, we are all different, but we're essentially the same. We are but human.

Proposed artworks for Beyond

Photographs of family and friends has much more meaningful significance than just the image itself. A photo can transport you back to a certain past time in your life, unlocking certain emotions from that time, commemorating feelings long forgotten. Gathering photos from an old family photo album, I have used photos of close family relatives as my main source of inspiration. My series of paintings titled "Family Treasures' exhibits portraits of close family members I feel have each shaped and influenced me characteristically and the nature of the person I am today. The materials and methodology I have used is consistent throughout my series. All portraits are painted in acrylic and pencil using particular colors such as green and brown that was influenced by the colour theme of my Grandma's home interior. In addition, the use of such somber tones suggests the image of the subject is representative of a past time, adopting the worn, aged effects of an old photograph.

'Family Treasures'

Photos of close relatives such as this one have been my main source of inspiration.
