Beyond Introduction

The title of the exhibition, BEYOND represents the ways in which individuals have extended their ideas and practice during the two year duration of their studies at the Southbank Institute of Technology. This concept expresses feelings with regards to future ventures and for some a drive to continue to break the boundaries of existing knowledge and to move further with their education or professional development in the visual arts industry.

As this group of emerging artists move beyond the canopy of their Diploma we are witness to the diversity of the developments in thinking which encompass current issues and themes such as, environment, globalization, identity and poetry through media such as painting, printmaking, sculpture, installation and drawing.
